Position - UNIVERSITY GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR
Location - EuroSchool Electronic City
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and deliver a comprehensive career guidance program for secondary students from Grades 7 to 12.
Design and implement a structured framework for delivering the Careers program to students and staff, ensuring seamless classroom training and providing guidance or instruction as needed on career development and university preparation.
Collaborate with the School Management and Grade 11/12 tutors to provide university guidance and support throughout the application process for staff, students, and parents.
Compile and validate information to produce accurate, official transcripts for university applications in the required format.
Gather and organize student brag sheets to facilitate the creation of effective references by subject teachers and counsellors
Oversee the tracking of student university applications and share updates with reporting managers
Collaborate with the Functional Manager to conduct an annual review of the University Guidance Program.
Work with the Administrative Manager to review processes annually and contribute to the School Improvement Plan.
Effectively communicate career and university opportunities to students and the broader school community.
Manage the planning and execution of a structured program and calendar for university visits to the school.
Deliver group presentations and conduct individual interviews to provide guidance and support. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions to assist students with academic and career planning.
Organize a series of family interview sessions starting from Grade 9 to foster collaborative decision-making.
Organize and schedule orientation programs and internships for students. Plan and organize University Fairs on Campus
Create and update the school profile annually to reflect current achievements and offerings.
Maintain a comprehensive database of student destinations, offers, and acceptances.
Develop and regularly update an alumni database to track graduates progress.
Provide an annual report detailing student destinations and outcomes.
Represent the school at relevant career and university conferences.
Ensure that career and university resources are up-to-date and explore additional tools to enhance these offerings.
Manage and operate the Career Guidance Technology platform, engaging with students, staff, and parents effectively.
Participate in relevant workshops and training sessions to stay informed of best practices.
Actively contribute to the BHIS school community with enthusiasm and initiative.
Qualifications
M.A. in Psychology/Sociology with at least 2 years working as school counsellor/ University Guidance Counsellor OR
M.A./M.Ed in Education with at least 3 years experience working as English teacher
Certification in Guidance Counselling is desirable
