Why This Role Matters
Today, many learners are confused about which online MBA, BBA, BCA, MCA, M.Com, MA, certificate, or upskilling program is right for them.
They receive calls from many platforms, but they still do not get clear, honest, and practical guidance.
As a Career Counsellor at RiseUpp, your role will be to understand the learner's profile, career goals, budget, and preferences, and then guide them toward the right course or university.
This is not just a calling job. This is a consultative sales role where you will help learners make one of the most important decisions of their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Speak with students and working professionals who are interested in online degree and certificate programs.
- Understand the learner's education background, work experience, career goals, budget, and course preference.
- Counsel learners on suitable online MBA, BBA, BCA, MCA, and other online degree programs.
- Explain course benefits, university details, eligibility, fees, admission process, and career outcomes clearly.
- Follow up with interested learners through calls, WhatsApp, and email.
- Build trust with learners and help them take the right admission decision.
- Maintain daily follow-up records and lead status properly in CRM.
- Achieve weekly and monthly admission targets.
- Coordinate with internal teams for application, documentation, payment, and admission support.
- Collect positive feedback and reviews from satisfied learners after good counselling conversations.
- Stay updated about online degree programs, universities, eligibility rules, and admission timelines.
Academic Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline is required.
- BBA, BCom, BA, BCA, BBM, BSc, BHM, or other relevant undergraduate degrees are preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong communication skills, confidence, and interest in sales/counselling can apply.
- Candidates must be able to understand online degree programs and explain them clearly to students and working professionals.
Must-Have Skills
- Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Strong interest in sales, counselling, and learner guidance.
- Comfortable making calls and speaking to new people every day.
- Ability to understand learner needs and suggest suitable options.
- Strong follow-up discipline.
- Target-oriented mindset.
- Positive attitude and ability to handle rejection.
- Basic computer skills and comfort with CRM/Google Sheets.
- Willingness to work from office in Bangalore.
- Seriousness to build a long-term career in EdTech sales and counselling.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Prior experience in EdTech, inside sales, admission counselling, telecalling, customer support, banking sales, insurance sales, loan sales, or BPO sales.
- Knowledge of online MBA, BBA, BCA, MCA, or higher education programs.
- Experience using CRM tools.
- Ability to speak regional languages.
- Prior experience handling student or working professional leads.
Experience Required
- 0 to 3 years of experience.
- Freshers with strong communication skills, hunger to learn, and interest in sales can also apply.
- Candidates from sales, counselling, BPO, customer support, banking, insurance, fintech, and EdTech backgrounds are preferred.
Salary and Incentives
- Fixed Salary: ₹30,000 per month
