Department Description

The Capital Deployment & Liquidity Management team is responsible for the liquidity management, allocations and fundings for the Private Credit platform. The team works very closely with the Portfolio Manager, and Investment Teams on the allocation and funding of all investments, along with various other internal teams across infrastructure (Treasury, Fund Accounting, etc.) on the liquidity management of each individual fund.

Description

HPS is currently seeking an Associate level candidate to join the Capital Deployment & Liquidity Management team in Mumbai. This position will primarily support deal closings and ratings maintenance for Private Credit investments, with a focus on Private Ratings, Middle Market CLOs, and High-Grade Credit. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of relevant deal execution experience, preferably in private ratings management, as well as strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support investment operations across private credit, direct lending, high-grade credit, and CLO portfolios.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of private rating requests, working closely with Fitch, Moody's, S&P, and KBRA from initial submission through the issuance of rating letters, credit estimates, and credit opinions.
  • Oversee PPN and CUSIP request workflows and maintain supporting transaction documentation throughout the investment lifecycle.
  • Review, validate, and maintain ratings information in internal systems, ensuring the accurate capture of rating actions and security-level data.
  • Create and maintain rating letter templates and trackers, and coordinate the timely distribution of ratings-related information to investors and key stakeholders.
  • Manage rating agency invoices, fee administration, and related operational processes.
  • Coordinate preliminary and final private ratings required for certain accounts, including organizing meetings and calls between HPS and the rating agencies.
  • Support insurance investment portfolios through reporting, data analysis, and ad hoc requests.

Candidate Profile

  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience, asset management industry preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset, and diligent with demonstrated skills problem-solving.
  • Strong technical skills, with a willingness to learn and implement new software applications.
  • Ability to liaise with key stakeholders of all levels throughout the firm.
  • Excel/MS Office Proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality while adhering to the highest ethical standards, both personally and professionally.
