Capacity Planning Manager

We're seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Capacity Planning Manager to join our team. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for ensuring our IT infrastructure efficiently meets current and future business demands. You'll analyze utilization trends, forecast needs, and collaborate with various teams to optimize performance and maintain high availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze IT infrastructure utilization trends across various components (e.g., CPU, Memory, Network, Storage).
• Understand the reasons for resource level threshold hits and document observations by collaborating with various stakeholders, including server teams and application teams.
• Analyze resource threshold hits, utilizing knowledge and research methods for benchmarking.
• Build, analyze, and prepare comprehensive capacity utilization reports and Dashboards.
• Analyze the current and future needs of the business, and accordingly project/forecast future capacity requirements based on business plans, usage trends, and sizing of new services.
• Provide insightful trend analysis and present improvement plans specific to the performance and capacity of our IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate closely with monitoring teams and tools to ensure required capacity and availability monitoring is in place and that tools are configured to provide the necessary output for capacity analysis.
• Responsible for monitoring IT availability levels, comparing actual levels against set targets, and addressing any shortfalls proactively.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure capacity planning or a similar analytical role.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, etc.) and their performance metrics.
• Proficiency in analyzing utilization trends and forecasting future capacity needs.
• Experience in creating and presenting clear capacity utilization reports and dashboards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams (server, application, monitoring).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and their configuration for capacity analysis.
• A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential capacity shortfalls.
