C2H_Network Engineer

Job Summary: Alike Thoughts Info Systems is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer for a Contract-to-Hire (C2H) role. This position is critical for managing, deploying, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure, with a mandatory focus on Silver Peak SD-WAN solutions. You'll be responsible for maintaining network stability, implementing changes, and collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless network operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure Silver Peak SD-WAN routers (EdgeConnect appliances), Cisco Switches, and Wireless Access Points.
• Utilize strong hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, PVST+, IPsec site-to-site VPN, VoIP, HSRP, GLBP, and NAT/PAT.
• Set up and troubleshoot VPN tunnels to ensure secure connectivity.
• Coordinate effectively with vendors for both existing support and new implementations.
• Efficiently handle Service Restoration, Service Requests, and Change Requests according to defined processes.
• Perform commissioning and de-commissioning of network components as required.
• Adhere strictly to Change Control submission and approval processes for all network modifications.
• Plan, schedule, and implement network device software/hardware upgrades and migrations in a timely manner, minimizing impact on users.
• Apply a high degree of analytical ability and creativity to resolve complex network problems.
• Create and update network drawings using Microsoft Visio.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
• Demonstrate willingness and availability to work during evening and weekend hours for scheduled network infrastructure changes.
