Job Description

About Position:

We are looking for a handson database engineer with strong Linux system skills, deep knowledge of C/C++, and solid experience working with large-scale database systems. You will design, develop, and optimize advanced database functionalities for PostgreSQL, enabling cloudnative integrations, highperformance data ingestion, and support for diverse data types. You will also build database connectors and work on solving complex systemlevel challenges.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and enhance core PostgreSQL database features.
  • Design and implement cloudcentric capabilities such as data ingestion from data lakes and support for additional data types.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain connectors for the database product (e.g., data ingestion connectors, integration connectors).
  • Debug and resolve complex issues at the system, kernel, and database engine levels.
  • Work closely with crossfunctional teams to design scalable architectures and improve database performance.
  • Ensure high code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Participate in feature planning, design discussions, and architectural decisions.

Expertise You'll Bring

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming with handson experience in system-level development.
  • Deep understanding of relational database internalspreferably PostgreSQL, Oracle, Netezza, or DB2.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals including debugging, performance tuning, shell scripting, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing or enhancing database engines, query execution components, storage layers, or transaction processing.
  • Familiarity with designing cloudcentric data ingestion pipelines and working with data lakes.
  • Experience implementing or maintaining database connectors or integration frameworks.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to debug complex issues in distributed or data-intensive systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a dynamic engineering environment.
