Brief Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled, proactive, and detail-oriented Procurement Professional to manage end-to-end sourcing, vendor development, and purchasing activities for RIPL & Shrink Disc products, project requirements, and trading components.

This role is responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining strict compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and internal procurement processes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in vendor management, technical understanding of mechanical components, negotiation, cost analysis, and systematic supply chain coordination.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw materials, machine components, bought-out items, consumables, and project-specific requirements.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to ensure procurement aligned with technical requirements.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, collect techno‑commercial offers, perform comparative analysis, and finalize supplier selection.
  • Conduct supplier assessment and audits in coordination with QA and Supplier Quality teams to ensure capability and compliance.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and long-term rate contracts to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Ensure timely PO creation, order acknowledgment, and delivery follow-up to meet production and project timelines.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for corrective actions in case of delays, quality concerns, or specification deviations.
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics including OTD, quality compliance, cost adherence, and responsiveness.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with planning and stores teams to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Production, Finance, Stores) to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business needs.
  • Create and maintain procurement documentation including RFQs, PO records, comparison statements, supplier ratings, and contracts.
  • Support make‑or‑buy decisions, cost reduction initiatives, and value engineering projects.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and corporate governance norms.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, supplier-related safety issues, and logistics hazards through SOC cards to respective department managers/EHS manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
  • 7–12 years of hands-on experience in procurement within manufacturing/engineering industries.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, machining processes, and mechanical components.
  • Proven experience in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier development.
  • Knowledge of procurement standards, vendor audit processes, and cost analysis techniques.
  • Ability to read/interpret BOMs, technical specs, and purchase specifications.
  • Proficiency in SAP/ERP procurement modules and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of taxation, freight, and contract terms.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and drive supplier accountability.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective supplier and stakeholder interaction.
  • Proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong follow-up and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in global sourcing and alternate vendor development.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities and ability to drive cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Knowledge of logistics, import procedures, and incoterms (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Multilingual skills (English, Hindi, and Telugu).
  • High ethical standards and strong commitment to compliance and transparency.
