Job Description

HCL Technologies LTD (HCLTech) is seeking a motivated Buyer to oversee the procurement of indirect materials and services across the Americas region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services. This role requires previous experience in sourcing and supplier management, as well as working with cross-functional teams to support organizational objectives. This role will be reporting to the Lead of Facilities Procurement in the Americas.

Key responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include developing and executing purchasing strategies, evaluating supplier performance, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify and fulfill business needs. Strong communication skills are essential for building partnerships, resolving issues, and presenting recommendations to management. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.

  • Manage the procurement process for indirect materials and services in the Americas region
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal terms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards
  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Drive cost savings and process improvements across purchasing activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, supplier management, or purchasing
  • Ability to work hours that align with US time zones (5:00pm IST to 2:30AM IST) is a must
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement within a variety of non-IT business services and indirect materials categories across multiple countries, ideally within the Americas region
  • Proficient in verbal communication, writing, time management, organizational and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic displaying a mature and professional attitude with an ability to adjust quickly to change and to work independently with minimal direct oversight.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English; Spanish or Portuguese a plus
