Role Summary:

The Buyer Executive (Vitamins & Additives) will be responsible for procurement of vitamins, additives, and functional ingredients. The role includes procurement planning and execution, strategic and global sourcing, cross-functional collaboration, import operations management, market intelligence, and supplier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage procurement of vitamins, additives, and functional ingredients

Prepare and manage annual procurement budgets and ensure adherence to spend norms

Perform spend analysis, inventory optimization, and rejection control using ERP and analytics tools

Lead vendor negotiations, finalize pricing, payment terms, and incoterms to ensure best commercial outcomes

Identify and onboard reliable global and domestic suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply and quality compliance

Conduct continuous market research and cost benchmarking for raw materials and additives

Explore new molecules, alternate sources, and category innovations to improve cost and performance

Align sourcing with business needs through effective cross-functional collaboration.

Evaluate supplier capabilities and ensure technical and quality compliance of sourced materials

Manage end-to-end import processes, including vendor communication, documentation and customs clearance

Ensure compliance with regulatory norms

Collaborate with logistics partners to ensure timely and efficient material movement

Track global market trends and commodity movements to support sourcing decisions

Implement risk mitigation strategies for key ingredients and supply disruptions

Travel (10-15 days/month) for vendor development, audits, and market assessments

Build and maintain long-term supplier partnerships based on performance and reliability

Drive vendor evaluation, onboarding, and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Competencies:

Strong technical understanding of vitamins, amino acids, additives, bioavailable minerals, and nutraceutical ingredients

Proven experience in global and domestic sourcing of APIs, AIs, specialty chemicals, nutraceuticals, or feed additives

In-depth knowledge of import documentation, customs, and global trade compliance

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), Excel, and data analysis tools

Experience:

410 years of experience, preferably in Animal Nutrition, Feed, Food, Pharma, or Nutraceutical industries

Candidates with procurement experience in Amino Acid, Premix, API, Vitamin, or Mineral-based companies, preferably from Pharma, Chemical, or Nutraceutical organizations

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, or related technical field

Preferred: Postgraduate degree or certification in Supply Chain, Procurement, or International Business
