Dhamma is an institutional investment platform (FII and AIF) investing in Indian public markets with private-equity rigor. We are building a team committed to excellence in the craft of investing, with long time horizons and high standards.

About the Role

The team member will be responsible for end-to-end investment research, on the ground due diligence, financial modeling, initiating sector coverage, following processes and scorecards, establishing relationships with senior management / business stakeholders (and over time: idea generation & managing portfolio risks)

This is a Generalist role. Prior sector expertise around Technology, Healthcare and Financial Services are desirable, but not necessary. The role is primarily based in Mumbai, with flexibility to relocate should the team or office location evolve.

Qualifications:

• You have 2-6 years of Investing / other relevant experience: Buy side (public and private equity), Sell Side, Consulting, Investment Banking, Business Research
• You have consistently been in Top 1 Percentile in your chosen career and education. Very important.
• You are genuinely passionate about public markets and want to pursue it for a Lifetime. We do not have Degree pre-requisites, and are open to all education backgrounds if you check the remaining criteria.

• You are a First Principal thinker who can build on independent ideas with methodical, rigorous, evidence-based reasoning, guided by clear, knife-through-butter logic.
• You are an Investigative Journalist who will not rest until you find the whole truth. You are also comfortable evaluating disconfirming evidence and asking deeper Second-order Questions and then what
• You have endless curiosity & passion for continual learning, specially on businesses, economics, people and psychology. You would like to read 8 hours a day even if you were not getting paid for it.
• You are Entrepreneurial and high-energy by nature. You thrive in lean set-ups and take complete accountability. You have excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• You have a Long-term DNA. You make life choices with a multi-year view, and are comfortable choosing long-term benefits over short-term gains (Delayed Gratification gene)
• Kind, Collaborative and high EQ

Who Should NOT Apply

• You are solving for the next 2-3 years phase of your career - instead of minimum 5 years or more.
• You view businesses primarily through screens and spreadsheets rather than as living, breathing groups of people.
• You get influenced by what the world thinks of your opinions or life choices.
• Field research doesn't appeal to you. This isn't a typical desk job: it requires significant on-the-ground research, demanding creativity, relationship-building, and resourcefulness.

Compensation

• Compensation will reflect market standards and the value the candidate brings to Dhamma.
• ESOP & Carried Interest: You will be eligible to participate in both the ESOP pool and fund's carried interest, contingent on performance, after 24-36 months.
