We are looking for a BI Developer / Data Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, and Excel-based analytics to build impactful business intelligence solutions. The role involves developing interactive dashboards, transforming and analyzing datasets, and generating actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Power BI development, SQL querying, and data preparation, along with a solid understanding of data modeling concepts and analytics using Excel.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business analytics needs.
- Perform data transformation and preparation using Power Query within Power BI.
- Develop and maintain DAX calculations and measures to enable advanced analytical reporting.
- Work with SQL queries (joins, aggregations, filtering) to extract and manipulate data from databases.
- Optimize SQL queries and reporting models for better performance and efficiency.
- Build advanced Excel-based analytical models using formulas, pivot tables, and visualization features.
- Conduct statistical and exploratory data analysis in Excel to identify patterns and trends.
- Ensure high-quality datasets through data validation, cleaning, and preparation processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver business-friendly data visualizations.
- Apply data modeling principles and schema understanding to create efficient analytical datasets.
- Support integration of BI solutions with modern data platforms and pipelines where required.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in Power BI dashboard development and report building.
- Proficiency in data transformation using Power Query.
- Experience working with SQL queries including joins, aggregations, filtering, and performance tuning.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel formulas, pivot tables, and data summarization techniques.
- Experience applying conditional formatting and visualization techniques in Excel.
- Solid understanding of data schemas, data types, and structured vs. unstructured data.
- Ability to translate business requirements into effective data models and visual analytics solutions.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with advanced Power BI visualization techniques and enhanced dashboard storytelling.
- Exposure to Power BI sharing, governance, and collaboration features.
- Experience with data extraction, cleaning, and preparation workflows.
- Basic knowledge of VBA automation in Excel.
- Understanding of data modeling relationships and best practices.
- Exposure to Databricks environments, notebooks, and modern data pipelines.
