Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Business Development Specialist located in Surat, Gujarat. The Business Development Specialist needs to drive consistent and high-quality lead generation, build meaningful client relationships, and support conversion into long-term engagements through structured outreach and pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Outreach
- Identify and research Ideal Client Profiles (ICPs) based on the discussion with the management
- Execute personalized outreach via:
-LinkedIn
-Email campaigns
- Craft tailored, relationship-driven messages aligned with company positioning
- Maintain consistency in daily outreach activities
2. Upwork Bidding & Proposal Management
- Identify relevant, high-quality job postings on Upwork
- Submit customized proposals (no copy-paste approach)
- Optimize profile positioning and response quality
- Track proposal performance (response rate, conversion rate)
- Engage with prospects and convert conversations into meetings
3. Cold Calling (As Needed)
- Conduct cold calls for selected high-potential leads when required
- Initiate conversations professionally and build rapport
- Qualify prospects and schedule meetings
- Maintain call records and outcomes
4. Follow-ups & Lead Nurturing
- Execute structured follow-up sequences
- Re-engage inactive or cold leads periodically
- Maintain continuity in conversations
- Build long-term relationships with prospects
5. Discovery Call Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate discovery calls with prospects
- Ensure proper qualification before booking meetings
- Share relevant background and notes internally before calls
6. Proposal Coordination & Conversion Support
- Understand client requirements post initial discussion
- Coordinate internally for pricing and scope
- Share proposals with proper context
- Follow up consistently to drive conversions
7. CRM & Pipeline Management
- Maintain and update CRM/pipeline tracker:
-Leads generated
-Contacted
-In discussion
-Proposal stage
-Closed / Lost (with reasons)
- Ensure data accuracy and strong discipline in tracking of all data
8. Market Insights & Feedback
- Capture and report:
- Client objections
- Market expectations
- Service demand trends
- Provide weekly insights to management for strategy improvement
9. Relationship Building
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with prospects
- Maintain periodic touchpoints with warm leads
Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or related field.
- MBA (Marketing/IB) preferred but not mandatory
- Practical experience in sales, lead generation, or Upwork bidding will be given higher preference over academic qualifications
Experience:
- 4 years in B2C-B2B sales / business development / lead generation in total
- Minimum 2 years in international business development specially in USA, UK, AUS
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal English communication
- Ability to build relationships and handle conversations professionally
- Strong hold on the functionality of LinkedIn, Sales navigator, apollo, Upwork platforms and other relevant tools/platforms.
- Basic understanding of accounting and related things
- Strong understanding of outsourcing service-based business (Accounting/KPO/BPO preferred)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (Tracked on weekly basis)
- Daily outreach activity (messages/emails/calls)
- Number of meaningful conversations initiated
- Qualified meetings booked
- Upwork proposal response & conversion rate
- Pipeline movement and conversion ratio
Compensation Structure:
- Fixed ( Rs. 4.20 LPA to Rs. 6.00 LPA)
- Variable incentive based on KPIs
Timing: 5 PM to 2 AM - Monday to Friday (On-site)
