Business Development Specialist - EV Charging

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

1. Scout and shortlist strategic locations for EV charger installations based on traffic flow, proximity to high EV usage areas, and power infrastructure availability.
2. Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for shortlisted sites.
3. Initiate and manage communications with property owners, commercial complexes, mall operators, restaurants, fuel stations, and other relevant stakeholders.
4. Negotiate lease/rental agreements, revenue-sharing models, or commission-based arrangements and share proposal with management.
5. Draft MoUs / agreement and ensure legal due diligence and documentation for site acquisition.
6. Liaise with internal legal, technical, and finance teams for timely approvals.
7. Coordinate with local municipal authorities / utilities / electricity boards / DISCOMs for necessary permissions, No Objection Certificates, and power connections.
8. Oversee the installation and commissioning of EV chargers at finalized locations.
9. Ensure the EV Station is live on partner Apps through OCPI Protocol
10. Coordinate with OEMs, EPC (Engineering, Procurementand Construction) contractors, and utility providers for timely execution.
11. Ensure compliance with safety, electrical, and regulatory standards.
12. Ensure all documentation (including SLAs, lease agreements, and utility connections) is complete. Conduct training or orientation sessions for site staff or owners as needed. Monitor initial performance and resolve any startup issues.
13. Maintain site-wise documentation, timelines, and status reports.
14. Regularly update internal CRM tools or project trackers.

Requirements:

Education: Diploma / Graduate in Engineering, Business, or related field.

Experience: 8+ years in real estate acquisition, EV infrastructure, or renewable energy sectors.

Skills:

1. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
2. Basic technical knowledge of electrical infrastructure.
3. Familiarity with regulatory norms for EV charger deployment.
4. Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
5. Willingness to travel extensively for site visits and meetings.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Number of charging locations finalized and onboarded per quarter.

Average turnaround time from identification to commissioning.

Cost-effectiveness of negotiated lease/revenue terms.

Compliance and quality of commissioned sites.
