Job Summary
The Manager Business Development will be responsible for driving business growth for automotive wiring harness products by identifying new customers, expanding existing accounts, and developing strategic sales initiatives. The role focuses on customer acquisition, relationship management, pricing negotiations, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the automotive industry, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and aftermarket customers.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve assigned revenue and growth targets.
- Generate leads through market research, networking, and customer engagement.
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer communications and negotiations.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Understand customer requirements and propose appropriate automotive wiring harness solutions.
- Coordinate with engineering and product development teams to meet customer specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support related to product applications and standards.
Pricing, Negotiation & Contracts
- Prepare and submit pricing proposals, quotations, and commercial offers.
- Negotiate contract terms and pricing to ensure business profitability.
- Monitor pricing strategies in line with market conditions and competitive dynamics.
Market Research & Strategy
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities.
- Identify new market segments and develop entry and expansion strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on promotional campaigns and product positioning.
Reporting & CRM Management
- Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and contract details.
- Utilize CRM systems to manage customer data, sales pipelines, and follow-ups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree / MBA will be an added advantage.
- 515 years of experience in business development or sales within the automotive wiring harness manufacturing industry.
