Reports To: Director

Employment Type: Full-Time

1. Role Overview

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new clients, expanding existing accounts, and building strategic partnerships in the IT services and software development domain. The role requires expertise in B2B sales, IT solution consulting, proposal development, and end-to-end sales cycle management.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Revenue Generation & Sales Growth
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities in IT services (Web Development, Mobile Apps, SaaS, ERP, CRM, AI, Cloud Solutions, Digital Marketing, etc.).
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, networking, references, and industry events.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead qualification to deal closure.
B. Client Relationship Management
  • Understand client requirements and propose customized IT solutions.
  • Conduct client presentations, product demos, and commercial discussions.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements.
  • Ensure high client satisfaction and long-term retention.
C. Proposal & Documentation
  • Prepare RFP/RFQ responses, technical proposals, commercial proposals, and scope documents.
  • Coordinate with technical teams for solution architecture and effort estimation.
  • Draft contracts, NDAs, SLAs, and service agreements.
D. Market & Competitive Intelligence
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends and new opportunities.
  • Analyze competitors offerings, pricing models, and positioning.
  • Recommend strategic improvements in service offerings.
E. Team Coordination
  • Work closely with marketing, pre-sales, and technical delivery teams.
  • Support branding initiatives, digital campaigns, and lead generation activities.
  • Mentor and guide junior sales executives.

3. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, or related field.

  • MBA (Marketing / International Business) preferred.
  • 12 years of experience in IT sales / software services business development.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
4. Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Understanding
  • Knowledge of IT services such as:
  • Web & Mobile Application Development
  • ERP / CRM Solutions, Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • AI/ML Solutions, SaaS Product Sales, UI/UX & Digital Marketing
Sales & Negotiation Skills
  • Strong consultative selling approach. Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
  • Experience in handling international clients (US, UK, Canada, Australia preferred).
Communication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities.
Tools & Platforms
  • Experience with CRM tools. LinkedIn Sales Navigator experience preferred.
  • MS Office / Google Sheets proficiency.

  • Monthly / Quarterly Revenue Target Achievement
  • Lead Conversion Ratio, Average Deal Size
  • Client Acquisition Rate, Sales Pipeline Value
  • Customer Retention & Upselling Metrics

6. Compensation Structure (Typical for Indian IT Market)

Fixed Salary: Based on experience & interview
