Objective
The Manager Business Development will support and drive institutional and government business initiatives for TEL's wires and cables portfolio. This role involves engaging with government bodies, EPC contractors, public sector clients, and infrastructure developers to expand market presence, ensure compliance, and contribute to long-term growth within the industrial and infrastructure segments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Government & Institutional Liaison
- Develop and maintain working relationships with government departments, public sector units (PSUs), municipalities, and regulatory bodies.
- Support the preparation, submission, and followup of government tenders, bids, and contract-related documentation.
- Participate in meetings with government stakeholders, industry associations, and trade forums representing TEL's offerings.
- Ensure compliance with government norms, schemes, regulatory procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Assist in monitoring policy changes and recommend actions to safeguard TEL's business interests.
2. Business Development, Customer & Key Account Strategy
- Execute business development strategies to grow institutional and project-based sales for TEL's wires & cables.
- Identify potential government and institutional opportunities and support conversions through continuous engagement and solution-based selling.
- Manage and nurture relationships with key accounts to drive revenue, brand visibility, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and infrastructure developers to position TEL products in relevant projects.
- Effectively communicate TEL's product value proposition and support longterm strategic partnerships.
3. Financial & Operational Planning
- Provide inputs for business forecasting and budgeting for institutional and government business.
- Ensure effective documentation and timely followups for tender submissions, approvals, and payments.
4. Team & Stakeholder Management
- Guide and collaborate with internal crossfunctional teams (Sales, Technical, Commercial, and Operations) to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Maintain transparent communication across stakeholders and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred; MBA is an added advantage. (Females Preferred)
- 12+ years of experience in business development, government liaison, institutional sales, or project engagements in the electrical, cables, EPC, or infrastructure domain.
- Proven experience interacting with government departments, PSUs, EPC firms, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong understanding of tendering processes, technical specifications, compliance norms, and public procurement frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability in managing key accounts, driving project sales, and building long-term customer relationships.
