Business Development Manager
Cybersecurity Services · Individual Contributor
We are a growing cybersecurity services company looking for a driven, self-sufficient Business Development Manager to own a defined territory, manage the full sales funnel, and personally bring in new clients. This is a pure individual contributor role — you will be measured on your own pipeline activity, conversion rates, and revenue closed.
Experience
7+ years
Reports to
Senior BD Manager / CXO
Role overview
As a Business Development Manager, you will own a defined geographic or vertical territory and be responsible for building and converting a healthy pipeline of cybersecurity clients. You bring strong prospecting instincts, comfort engaging senior IT and security stakeholders, and the discipline to manage your funnel with rigour and consistency.
Key responsibilities
· Own and grow a defined sales territory — identifying target accounts, mapping stakeholders, and building a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
· Manage the full sales funnel independently — from cold outreach and discovery calls to demos, proposals, negotiations, and closure.
· Engage directly with CISO, CTO, CIO, and IT heads to understand security challenges and position the company's services as the right solution.
· Develop account plans for high-priority prospects and track progress against weekly and monthly pipeline milestones.
· Meet and exceed quarterly and annual individual revenue targets with predictable, data-backed forecasting.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records covering all prospect interactions, deal stages, and next steps.
· Conduct competitor and market research within your territory to sharpen outreach, messaging, and positioning.
· Coordinate with pre-sales and delivery teams during the proposal and scoping phase to ensure technically sound, client-relevant proposals.
· Manage contract and commercial negotiations for deals within your territory, escalating appropriately for complex or high-value engagements.
· Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and networking forums to build visibility and generate leads within your territory.
What you bring
· 7+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably within cybersecurity, IT services, or enterprise technology.
· Proven personal track record of consistently meeting or exceeding individual revenue targets — with specific deals and numbers you can speak to.
· Hands-on experience managing the full sales cycle end-to-end, including prospecting, qualification, solutioning, and closure.
· Comfort engaging mid-to-senior stakeholders including IT heads, CISOs, and procurement teams.
· Strong pipeline discipline — ability to forecast accurately, prioritise the right opportunities, and maintain consistent funnel hygiene.
· Good understanding of cybersecurity services such as SOC, VAPT, GRC, managed security, or cloud security — enough to hold credible conversations with technical buyers.
· Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) for tracking activity, pipeline, and forecasting.
· Self-starter mindset — you do not need to be managed closely and take ownership of your numbers and your territory.
Good to have
· Existing network or prior client relationships within BFSI, manufacturing, healthcare, or government sectors.
· Exposure to solution selling or consultative sales frameworks (MEDDIC, SPIN, Challenger Sale).
· Experience using sales engagement tools (Outreach, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) for prospecting and outreach.
· Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. MBA is a plus but not required.
