Job Description:We are looking for an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to lead and expand our business development and techno-commercial functions. The ideal candidate will take ownership of identifying new business opportunities, managing end-to-end tendering processes, and building long-term client relationships. This role will also be responsible for mentoring junior team members and ensuring the preparation of high-quality proposals aligned with company strategy and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Business Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize business opportunities in domestic and international markets consistent with company objectives.
- Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and strengthen the company's positioning.
- Maintain market intelligence on competitors, upcoming tenders, and industry trends.
- Proposal & Tender Management:
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with client requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, finance, and project management teams for technical and commercial inputs.
- Review and finalize bid documents, cost estimates, and technical write-ups before submission.
- Ensure timely submission of bids and effective follow-up on results and clarifications.
- Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead client meetings and presentations to understand project requirements and propose tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and consultants to ensure repeat business.
- Negotiate commercial terms and contract conditions to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise, guide, and mentor Business Development Executives / Graduate Engineer Trainees.
- Assign responsibilities, review outputs, and ensure adherence to company standards.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
- Maintain a consolidated bid tracking system (Bid Master Sheet) to monitor submissions, results, and business performance metrics.
- Provide periodic reports to senior management on pipeline status, hit ratios, and key insights.
Desired Profile:- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree in Business Administration or related discipline preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in business development, techno-commercial management, or tendering functions within consulting, EPC, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in leading proposal development and winning large-scale projects.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- High proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with CRM or bid management tools.
- Strategic thinker with a strong analytical and result-oriented approach.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings and project pursuits.
