Role OverviewMicrometal Engineering Industries is looking for its first dedicated Business Development Manager to drive customer acquisition and establish a sales function for our precision CNC machining business. The role requires identifying and onboarding new OEM and Tier-2/Tier-3 clients in sectors such as automotive, EV, defense, and industrial machinery.
The person will directly report to the Owner and play a key role in creating long-term, repeat customer relationships
Key Responsibilities- Identify, approach, and onboard potential OEMs and Tier-2/Tier-3 vendors who require CNC turned and VMC machined components.
- Build and maintain relationships with purchase managers, vendor development managers, and technical teams.
- Handle vendor registrations, RFQs, and client qualification processes.
- Attend industry expos, vendor development meets, and visit industrial clusters to generate qualified leads.
- Manage the complete sales cycle: from prospecting → pilot order → follow-up → regular supply contracts.
- Keep updated database of leads, inquiries, and progress reports.
- Act as the single point of contact between clients and Micrometal's production team.
- Achieve defined sales targets and help build the company's sales department from scratch.
Requirements- 5–12 years of B2B sales/business development experience in machining, auto components, aerospace, EV, medical, or related engineering industries.
- Strong network with OEMs and Tier-2/Tier-3 suppliers is highly preferred.
- Good technical understanding of CNC/VMC machining, tolerances, and manufacturing basics.
- Confident, relationship-driven, and result-oriented personality.
- Willingness to travel frequently (Delhi NCR + outstation industrial hubs like Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad).
Compensation- Fixed salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000/month (negotiable beyond this depending on experience).
- Performance incentives/commissions linked to new accounts and order value.
