We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Pharmacovigilance Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth in our pharmacovigilance (PV) services portfolio. The ideal candidate will combine a deep understanding of drug safety and regulatory requirements with proven skills in client relationship management, lead generation, and strategic partnership development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide tailored solutions for pharmaceutical companies for other services like CDMO, Auditing services, Regulatory Services and Instrument Qualification services.
Key Responsibilities:
Business growth and strategy:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in pharmacovigilance and drug safety services across global markets.
- Create and implement strategies to expand market presence and achieve growth targets.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activities to identify emerging business opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of marketing and positioning strategies for PV services.
- Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives to expand the company's client base and market presence.
- Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers in pharmaceutical companies, including roles in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain Management.
- Proactively pursue new business leads through various channels, including networking, attending industry events, and conducting market research.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop, customize, and deliver persuasive proposals, RFP responses, and client presentations.
- Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with existing and potential clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- Collaborate with internal functional teams (PV Operations, Medical Writing, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, etc.) to create tailored solutions.
- Ensure timely, high-quality submissions of bids and proposals.
- Support contract negotiation and closure stages.
- Work with clients to understand their unique requirements and provide tailored solutions that align with their needs for pharmaceutical services
- Serve as a key point of contact between clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth project delivery and client satisfaction.
Market Analysis & Strategy:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, emerging therapeutic areas, and demand for pharmacovigilance services.
- Analyse competitor offerings, pricing models, and positioning to refine the company's market differentiation strategy.
- Assess global regulatory changes and their impact on client needs and business opportunities.
- Develop business intelligence dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with leadership to design short- and long-term growth strategies based on market insights.
- Identify potential partnership and alliance opportunities with CROs, technology providers, and regulatory firms.
- Evaluate customer feedback and industry developments to continuously improve service offerings and market positioning.
- Forecast market potential for new geographies or service lines to support strategic expansion planning.
Reporting and Performance Tracking:
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions using CRM tools.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline progress.
- Track KPIs and analyse performance metrics to continuously improve business strategies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure their requirements are met and expectations are managed.
- Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals, deliverables, and changes.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in PV lifecycle management, safety database platforms (especially Oracle Argus), regulatory submissions, and signal/risk management.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in business development within pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or clinical research sectors.
- Exceptional executive network across pharma, biotech, and CROs in EU, US, and emerging markets.
- Strong understanding of global pharmacovigilance requirements and compliance standards.
- Proven success in achieving sales and growth targets.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinker with ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel as required.
