Role Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead KYRA Photon's solar business growth in Tamil Nadu, focusing on commercial and industrial rooftop and ground-mount solar projects. This role demands strong sales acumen, technical understanding, and relationship-building capabilities. The BDM will directly report to the Managing Director and play a key role in driving strategic expansion, revenue growth, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Development & Lead Generation
- Identify and develop business opportunities for rooftop and ground-mount solar projects across Tamil Nadu.
- Build and manage a pipeline of industrial and commercial clients in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, and institutions.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and regional mapping to identify growth areas.
2. Client Acquisition & Sales
- Lead the complete sales cycle: prospecting, proposal preparation, negotiations, and deal closure.
- Develop and deliver tailored solar proposals for CAPEX and PPA models.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets set by management.
- Maintain strong client relationships for repeat and referral business.
3. Project Coordination
- Work closely with design, engineering, and finance teams to develop accurate technical and commercial proposals.
- Ensure timely project handover to the execution team with complete documentation.
- Track progress and address client concerns during project delivery to ensure satisfaction.
4. Strategic Input & Reporting
- Provide market feedback, competitor intelligence, and new opportunity insights to the MD.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making for regional expansion.
- Prepare regular business reports, forecasts, and performance updates for management review.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems (Rooftop and Ground-Mount).
- Proven experience in C&I solar project business development (minimum 46 years preferred).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to create and interpret project financial models and ROI analyses.
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and capable of independent field operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Energy Engineering (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solar or renewable energy business development.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and solar proposal documentation.
- Fluency in Tamil and English is essential.
