JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing the overall B2B sales strategy, driving revenue growth, and leading a high-performing sales team. This role plays a critical part in achieving the company's sales objectives and enhancing its market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy and Planning:
oDevelop and implement a comprehensive B2B sales strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
oDefine sales targets, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team.
2. Revenue Growth and Target Achievement:
oSet ambitious revenue and sales growth targets for the B2Bsegment.
oMonitor and analyse sales performance against targets and take corrective actions as needed.
oDevelop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and customer segments.
3. Team Leadership:
oRecruit, hire, train, and mentor a high-caliber B2B sales team.
oProvide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members to drive individual and collective success.
oFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
4. Sales Operations:
oOversee and Lead with all B2B sales activities, including lead generation, prospecting, and client acquisition.
oDevelop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation.
oImplement and optimize sales processes, methodologies, and tools to maximize efficiency and productivity.
5. Client Relationship Management:
oCultivate and maintain strong relationships with key B2B clients and strategic partners.
oAct as a point of escalation for resolving complex client issues and ensuring client satisfaction.
oIdentify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding existing client relationships.
6. Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence:
oStay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors.
oConduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and potential threats.
oAdjust sales strategies based on market dynamics and emerging opportunities.
7. Sales Reporting and Analysis:
oProvide regular reports and updates on B2B sales performance to the Managing Director.
oUtilize data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Preferred candidate profile
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in B2B sales leadership, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Ability to deliver presentations to Industrial Gatherings.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Analytical mind-set with the ability to leverage data for decision-making.
Experience in business development in the field of Special Purpose Machines, Engineering, Automobile, Automation, Heavy Industries, Government tenders etc is preferred.
Network and contacts with related client base is desirable.
Proven track record of setting and meeting annual sales targets (turn over).

PG:MBA/PGDM in Any Specialization
