About Flybi
Flybi is a drone technology and services company operating across
industrial drone services, aerial intelligence, and advanced Counter-UAS (anti-drone) solutions. We work closely with
government departments, PSUs, defense establishments, and large industrial clients, delivering mission-critical solutions across surveillance, mapping, inspection, and airspace security.
We are now looking for a
revenue-driven Business Development Manager who can independently
own government and defense business growth in the drone and anti-drone domain.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for
end-to-end revenue generation from
government, defense, PSU, and strategic institutional clients. This role requires deep exposure to
drone industry ecosystems, government procurement, tenders, GeM, and defense contracting, along with strong relationship-building capabilities.
This is a
front-line, ownership role, not a coordination position.
Key Responsibilities
- Government & Defense Business Development
Identify, Qualify, And Convert Business Opportunities With
Central & State Government departments
PSUs
Defense, paramilitary, and homeland security agencies
Drive revenue from
drone services, Counter-UAS solutions, and customized drone programs.
Establish Flybi as a trusted vendor/solution partner across relevant agencies.
- Tendering & Contract Management
Own The Complete Tender Lifecycle
EOIs, RFPs, RFQs, tenders, GeM bids
Prepare And Review
Technical proposals
Commercial bids
Compliance matrices and eligibility documentation
Coordinate internally to ensure
accurate costing, technical alignment, and bid competitiveness.
- Strategic Market Development
Track Upcoming
Government programs
Defense modernization initiatives
Drone policy developments and procurement pipelines
Identify New Applications And Use-cases For
Drone services
Anti-drone / Counter-UAS systems
Support leadership in
market entry, partnerships, and long-term growth strategy.
- Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build And Maintain Strong Relationships With
Procurement officers
Commanding officers
Technical evaluators
Policy and decision-making stakeholders
Lead client discussions from
initial pitch to closure and repeat business.
Ensure smooth coordination during execution and post-deployment phases.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
Work Closely With
Engineering & Product teams (for technical alignment)
Operations & Services teams (for delivery feasibility)
Finance (pricing, margins, payment terms)
Translate client requirements into
clear internal execution plans.
Maintain
Opportunity pipeline
Revenue forecasts
Bid status and closure reports
Provide management with
clear visibility on growth metrics and risks.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong Understanding Of
Government procurement systems
GeM portal
Defense and PSU tendering processes
Proven Experience In
Drone industry / aerospace / defense technology sales
B2G and institutional business development
Ability to
close high-value, long-cycle government deals.
Excellent
Proposal writing
Negotiation
Presentation and stakeholder management skills
High ownership mindset with strong execution discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
Business Development / Sales
Drone, aerospace, defense, surveillance, or allied technology sectors
Mandatory Experience In
Government / PSU / Defense client handling
Tenders, GeM, and institutional contracts
Educational Background
Engineering degree preferred
MBA is an advantage but not mandatory if domain experience is strong
