Location: Ambika Estate Part-2,Santej, Ta. Kalol, Gujarat 382721

Industry: Industrial Automation / Smart Manufacturing

Experience Level: 4-6 years

Work Location: Office + Client Visit PAN India (Travelling as per business requirement)

Role Overview

We are seeking a technically strong and commercially driven Business Development Manager to build and qualify high-value opportunities in Industrial Automation and Manufacturing Solutions. This role focuses on converting marketing-generated leads into technically approved, sales-ready opportunities through structured discovery, solution conceptualization, and strategic account engagement. The ideal candidate understands automation solutions, customer pain points in manufacturing, and can bridge the gap between technical teams and commercial closure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Funnel Development & Lead Generation

Identify and engage potential prospects from marketing-generated leads.

Conduct thorough analysis and qualification of incoming leads to assess business potential.

Understand customer requirements and prepare preliminary/budgetary proposals aligned with client needs.

Follow up consistently on qualified leads to convert them into viable business opportunities.

Deliver technical presentations and propose appropriate solutions in response to RFQs, in coordination with the technical team.

2. Opportunity Qualification & Account Strategy

Conduct discovery discussions to understand customer challenges, operational gaps, and solution requirements.

Collaborate with internal technical teams to develop and present tailored technical solutions.

Identify key decision-makers and map the customer's buying process.

Develop and implement account penetration strategies to strengthen engagement and increase

conversion probability.

Obtain client approval on the proposed technical solution and formally hand over qualified opportunities to the Sales team for final negotiations and closure.

3. Strategic Partnerships & Alliances

Identify and establish channel partnerships, technology alliances, and referral networks to expand market reach.

Build and maintain strong relationships with industry associations and ecosystem partners.

Explore co-selling models and joint solution development opportunities to drive incremental revenue.

4. Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

Monitor competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and market positioning.

Provide structured market intelligence and insights to leadership to support strategic decision-making.

Contribute to strengthening the company's value proposition and go-to-market strategy.

5. CRM Management & Reporting

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads, opportunities, and pipeline stages in the CRM system.

Prepare revenue forecasts based on opportunity progression and pipeline health.

Share weekly and monthly Business Development performance reports, including key metrics and conversion analysis.

Key Skills & Competencies:

46 years of progressive experience in Business Development or B2B Technical Sales within Automation, Capital Equipment, Industrial Machinery, Manufacturing Solutions, or Technology-driven organizations.

Demonstrated experience in managing the end-to-end lead lifecycle, including lead qualification, requirement analysis, solution conceptualization, and opportunity creation.

Proven track record of converting marketing-qualified leads into sales-qualified opportunities through structured follow-ups and consultative engagement.

Hands-on experience in understanding RFQs/RFPs, preparing techno-commercial or budgetary proposals, and coordinating with cross-functional technical teams to develop customized solutions.

Experience in delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution

walkthroughs to mid-to-senior level stakeholders.

Strong exposure to opportunity qualification methodologies and account mapping, including identification of decision-makers and buying processes.

Experience working closely with Sales teams by transitioning technically approved opportunities for commercial negotiation and final closure.

Proven ability to build strategic partnerships, channel alliances, or referral networks to expand business reach.

Working knowledge of CRM systems for pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity tracking, and performance reporting.

Exposure to competitive analysis, market intelligence gathering, and contribution to go-to-market strategy development.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics /Robotics preferred).

MBA in Marketing, Sales, or Business Management (Preferred)

Prior experience in manufacturing or automation industry Highly desirable
