About the Role:
We're looking for a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our fast-growing EdTech team. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is a critical frontline leadership position responsible for directing and managing a high-performance team of Business Development Associates (BDAs) specializing in personalized in-home product presentations. You will serve as the primary sales executor and mentor for your assigned territory, ensuring the BDA team aggressively achieves and surpasses monthly and quarterly revenue targets for PW's educational products. This role demands an established sales leader who perfectly balances strategic team direction with hands-on, daily field support and final deal closure.
Key Responsibilities :-
Team Leadership & Performance Management
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 810 Business Development Associates (BDAs) to achieve individual and collective sales targets.
Monitor team performance through KPIs, provide regular feedback, and implement strategies to enhance productivity and conversion rates.
Lead Generation & Prospecting
Oversee the identification and qualification of potential students or parents through outbound calls, digital outreach, and referrals.
Ensure consistent and high-quality lead generation processes aligned with target audience profiles.
Consultative Selling
Guide the team in engaging prospects to understand their learning goals, challenges, and aspirations, and recommend the most suitable courses or programs.
Foster a customer-centric sales approach that builds trust and long-term relations
Sales Presentations & Demos
Supervise the execution of virtual and in-person counseling sessions, ensuring impactful product presentations that clearly communicate program value and outcomes.
Support team members in handling objections and closing enrollments effectively.
Pipeline Management
Manage and track the entire sales funnel through CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM), ensuring accurate data entry, timely follow-ups, and optimized conversion rates.
Analyze pipeline metrics to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with marketing, academic, and operations teams to ensure smooth lead flow, efficient student onboarding, and high levels of learner satisfaction.
Provide feedback to internal teams to align campaigns and offerings with market needs.
Target Achievement
Drive the team to meet and exceed weekly and monthly enrollment and revenue goals.
Develop incentive plans and performance tracking mechanisms to sustain motivation and accountability.
Feedback & Continuous Improvement
Collect and analyze feedback from students and parents to refine sales strategies, marketing campaigns, and program offerings.
Stay updated on market trends and competitor strategies to enhance sales effectiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Experience: 36 years of experience in business development, sales, or team management, preferably within the EdTech industry.
Proven track record of leading sales teams, driving high-performance culture, and achieving or exceeding revenue and enrollment targets.
Strong expertise in consultative and solution-based selling, with the ability to design and implement effective sales strategies.
Note - The candidate should be comfortable with travelling, as the role requires field visits.
