Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Guwahati. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales of Bajaj Life insurance products through lead generation, client acquisition, and portfolio growth across assigned territories and channels. The role includes building and managing relationships with customers, insurance consultants, and bank partners, conducting regular client meetings, understanding customer needs, and recommending appropriate life insurance and investment solutions. The Business Development Manager will track sales performance, prepare periodic reports, and work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth policy issuance, renewals, and after-sales service. The role also involves mentoring and motivating the local sales team or agency partners, organizing customer engagement activities, and staying updated on product features, regulatory guidelines, and market trends.

Qualifications

  • Strong sales and business development capabilities, including lead generation, prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Proficiency in relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and customer service, with the ability to build long-term trust with clients and partners.
  • Solid communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial and insurance concepts clearly to diverse customer segments.
  • Analytical and planning abilities, including target setting, territory planning, performance tracking, and basic data interpretation for business decisions.
  • Working knowledge of insurance or financial services products; prior experience in life insurance, banking, or BFSI sales is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in insurance or financial planning are an advantage.
  • Comfort with using CRM tools, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and digital platforms for reporting, communication, and customer engagement.
