Job Description

Role Summary

The Manager Business Development will lead client engagement, drive revenue growth initiatives, and oversee the end-to-end business development function. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities, excellent client management skills, and the capability to coordinate cross-functionally to support organizational growth. The Manager will supervise BD Executives, ensure pipeline development, and serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Relationship Development

Build, nurture, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients and strategic partners.

Conduct client / service provider meetings, presentations, and business reviews.

Serve as the primary escalation point for Client/Service provider issues and ensuretimelyresolution.

Business Development Strategy & Execution

Drive BD strategies aligned with organizational goals and revenue targets.

Identifynew business opportunities, markets, and client segments.

Develop andoptimizesales pitches, proposals, decks, and bid documents.

Lead initiatives to expand client portfolios across research, diagnostics, and allied healthcare services.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

Lead, mentor, and guide BD Executives and Associates.

Assign targets, review performance metrics, standard operating procedure documents are updated/ reviewed and ensure BD goals are met.

Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and client orientation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with clinical, operations, project management, and leadership teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and project execution.

Ensureaccuratehandover of client requirements andmonitorprogress until closure.

Collaborate with marketing for campaigns, outreach content, and brand positioning.

Pipeline & Reporting

Oversee CRM usage, ensuring all leads, opportunities, and interactions are updated.

Track BD KPIs (leads, conversions, revenue, engagement metrics).

Prepare and present weekly/monthly BD reports to leadership.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field (Master'spreferred).
  • 58 years of experience in Business Development, preferably in clinical research, healthcare, diagnostics, or life sciences.
  • Emphasizessite capacity, patient pool, and operational efficiency at the site level.
  • Having experienceonglobal capabilities, regulatoryexpertise, and ability to manage complex, multi-site trials is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience managing clients and BD teams.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiencyin MS Office Suite and CRM tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
