Role Description
This is not a generic SaaS sales role.
At TheVertical.ai, you are selling AI-first enterprise infrastructure, not tools, licenses, or point solutions. Our platform replaces fragmented operations with an AI Operating Model that orchestrates voice, workflows, compliance, and outcomes.
Your buyers are senior stakeholders - CXOs, Heads of Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Technology - in regulated, high-stakes environments.
This role requires consultative selling, problem discovery, and business-context depth - not transactional pitch-led sales.What You Will Sell
  • AI-native enterprise platforms for voice, orchestration, compliance, and outcomes
  • Solutions that impact revenue recovery, operational cost, risk exposure, and compliance
  • Mission-critical systems deployed inside banks, NBFCs, fintechs, and large enterprises
You will typically enter through one high-impact use case (e.g., voice or collections) and expand accounts over time.

Role Purpose
The Business Development Executive / SDR is responsible for pipeline generation, opportunity qualification, and early-stage deal shaping, with strong emphasis on:
  • Field-based enterprise selling
  • Problem discovery and qualification
  • Setting up high-quality demos and POCs
You act as the first layer of trust and context between the customer and TheVertical.ai platform.Key Responsibilities1. Enterprise Prospecting & Qualification
  • Identify and prospect mid-to-large B2B enterprise accounts (BFSI, regulated sectors)
  • Engage prospects via outbound, inbound, referrals, and field visits
  • Conduct discovery conversations focused on business problems, not features
  • Qualify opportunities on impact, urgency, decision-makers, and compliance context
2. Field Sales & Solution Discovery
  • Conduct on-site meetings with CXOs, operations heads, and functional leaders
  • Understand existing workflows, pain points, and operational bottlenecks
  • Position TheVertical.ai as enterprise infrastructure, not a tool replacement
  • Set up demos, pilots, and proof-of-concepts aligned to customer workflows
3. Sales Support & Internal Coordination
  • Work closely with Account Executives, pre-sales, and solution architects
  • Ensure clean handover of qualified, well-contextualized opportunities
  • Support proposal preparation, pricing discussions, and follow-ups
  • Act as the voice of the customer internally
4. Pipeline & CRM Discipline
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of leads, meetings, field visits, and deal stages
  • Track follow-ups, objections, and next steps rigorously
  • Adhere to structured enterprise sales processes and reporting cadence
Required Skills & Experience (Non-Negotiable)
  • 2+ years of experience in B2B IT / SaaS / Enterprise technology sales
  • Proven exposure to field sales and on-site enterprise engagements
  • Strong communication, presentation, and business articulation skills
  • Ability to speak to business outcomes, ROI, and operational impact
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity
Required Mindset (More Important Than Skills)
  • Comfort selling complex platforms, not simple products
  • Curiosity to understand customer operations deeply
  • Ability to handle longer sales cycles and multiple stakeholders
  • Discipline to follow structured qualification and CRM hygiene
Good to Have (Strong Plus)
  • Experience selling to banks, NBFCs, fintechs, or regulated enterprises
  • Exposure to AI, automation, CPaaS, CCaaS, CRM, or workflow platforms
  • Understanding of compliance-heavy environments (collections, voice, audits)
  • Prior experience with POCs, pilots, or enterprise rollouts

  • Not a high-volume transactional sales role
  • Not a pure inside-sales or call-center role
  • Not a feature-pitch or demo-only role

  • Your deals require minimal re-qualification by Account Executives
  • Customers trust you as a problem-understander, not a salesperson
