Role Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to support sales pipeline development for CRO services and ClinTech solutions. The role involves market research, lead generation, client outreach, CRM updates, proposal coordination, and follow-up with pharma, biotech, CRO, medical device, and life sciences organizations.
This role is suitable for candidates who are interested in B2B sales, clinical research services, healthcare technology, and life sciences business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify potential clients across pharma, biotech, CROs, medical device companies, research organizations, and life sciences organizations.
- Conduct market research to build target account lists across India, USA, Europe, Japan, APAC, and other focus markets.
- Perform LinkedIn outreach, email campaigns, cold calling, and structured follow-ups with decision makers.
- Support lead generation for CRO services including clinical operations, CDM, biostatistics, statistical programming, regulatory writing, medical writing, pharmacovigilance, medical devices, RWE, and FSP models.
- Support lead generation for ClinTech solutions including EDC, RBQM, trial collaboration platforms, AI-enabled clinical trial solutions, and data intelligence platforms.
- Coordinate with internal teams to understand service capabilities, client requirements, proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and follow-up actions.
- Maintain CRM discipline by updating leads, contacts, conversations, next steps, opportunities, and pipeline status.
- Schedule introductory meetings, capability presentations, product demonstrations, and business discussions.
- Track competitor activity, industry trends, conferences, potential partnerships, and new market opportunities.
- Support sales reporting, pipeline reviews, and weekly business development updates.
Required Skills
- 3–8 years of experience in business development, inside sales, lead generation, B2B sales, or client outreach.
- Interest in pharma, biotech, CRO, clinical research, medical devices, healthcare technology, SaaS, or life sciences services.
- Good English communication, Presentation skills, professional email writing, and follow-up discipline.
- Ability to understand service-based and solution-based selling.
- Good experience in LinkedIn, email outreach, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools.
- Willingness to learn clinical research services, CRO delivery models, and AI-enabled clinical trial technology solutions.
- Strong ownership, persistence, documentation discipline, and ability to work with sales targets.
Must-Have Requirements
- Strong customer-facing presentation skills with the ability to confidently present company capabilities, CRO services, ClinTech solutions, and value propositions to prospective customers.
- Comfortable preparing and delivering introductory presentations, capability decks, solution overviews, and follow-up discussions with customers.
- Ability to understand customer requirements, ask relevant questions, capture discussion points, and coordinate internally for proposals, demos, and next steps.
- Good negotiation skills with the ability to support pricing discussions, proposal follow-ups, commercial conversations, and closure discussions in a professional and customer-focused manner.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences, business development visits, partner discussions, and industry events as required.
- Flexibility for domestic travel across India and occasional international travel based on business requirements.
- Interest and willingness to attend pharma, biotech, CRO, medical device, healthcare, and life sciences conferences/events to support networking, lead generation, and client engagement.
- Flexibility to work across different time zones when engaging with global clients, including USA, Europe, Japan, APAC, and other international markets.
- Comfortable with field visits, in-person meetings, online meetings, structured follow-ups, and regular sales reporting.
- Strong CRM discipline with timely updates on leads, meeting notes, next steps, opportunities, and pipeline status.
- Professional attitude with strong ownership, persistence, learning mindset, and willingness to understand CRO services, clinical research, and ClinTech solutions.
Not Best Suited For
This role may not be suitable for candidates with only retail sales, insurance sales, real estate sales, banking field sales, credit card sales, loan sales, FMCG sales, or door-to-door sales experience unless they have strong interest in B2B life sciences sales.
Compensation
Fixed salary plus performance-based incentives linked to qualified leads, meetings, proposals, pipeline progress, and business closures.
Growth Path
This role can grow into Business Development Manager, Inside Sales Lead, Key Account Manager, Enterprise Sales Executive, or Regional Business Development role based on performance.
