2. Role Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will lead sales initiatives from the Pithampur HO, handling channel expansion, key account management, project sales, and dealer development. The role demands strong travel readiness and a performance-driven mindset, with clear potential to grow into senior leadership levels (RSM/ZSM/NSM) based on demonstrated performance.
3. Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Business Development
- Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Identify new business opportunities in retail, project, and institutional segments.
- Conduct market mapping for new regions to expand Alankaram's dealer/distributor network.
- Build, maintain, and grow a healthy sales pipeline.
B. Dealer, Distributor & Channel Development
- Appoint, train, and manage channel partners.
- Conduct regular market visits to monitor channel performance and competitiveness.
- Ensure brand visibility through proper execution of merchandising/POP material.
C. Key Account, Architect & Project Engagement
- Build relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, and turnkey contractors.
- Generate business from commercial, hospitality, residential, and government projects.
- Present product ranges, provide technical details, and support sample/mock-up requirements.
D. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Track competitor products, pricing, trends, and market shifts.
- Provide weekly/monthly reports on sales performance and market feedback.
- Coordinate closely with marketing, design, and production teams for smoother order processing.
E. Customer Experience
- Act as the customer interface ensuring smooth order coordination, delivery timelines, and issue resolution.
- Maintain high satisfaction levels through proactive communication.
4. Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Graduate or Postgraduate (preferred: Business, Sales, Marketing, or related).
- Minimum 37 years of experience in sales (furniture, interiors, building materials, or allied industries).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to close deals independently.
- Good understanding of premium or design-oriented product categories.
- Target-oriented mindset with high accountability.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Excel, and reporting.
Personal Attributes
- Should be comfortable with extensive travel.
- Self-motivated, aggressive, and hands-on approach.
- Leadership potential to scale into higher managerial roles (RSM/ZSM/NSM).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with design, production, logistics, and marketing teams.
