About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Technical Consultant with strong hands-on technical expertise and working functional understanding of Finance and Manufacturing. The role focuses on customization, extensions, integrations, upgrades, and technical support, while collaborating closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, future-ready Business Central solutions.
This role is ideal for a technical specialist who understands business processes well enough to translate requirements into robust technical designs, without being a pure functional consultant.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Business Central Implementation & Customization
- Design, configure, and extend Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to meet client-specific business needs
- Perform technical analysis of business processes and recommend optimized solutions within Business Central
- Develop customizations and extensions using AL language and Visual Studio Code
- Build and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Implement and support core modules including Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, and Customer Service
2. Customization & Extensions Development
- Develop and maintain custom extensions aligned with Microsoft best practices
- Create customized pages, tables, reports, and APIs
- Ensure solutions are upgrade-safe and compatible with future Business Central releases
3. System Integration
- Integrate Business Central with CRM, e-commerce platforms, third-party applications, and legacy systems
- Use web services, APIs, and data exchange protocols to enable seamless data flow
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration-related issues and performance bottlenecks
4. Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide L2 and L3 technical support for Business Central implementations
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
- Address system bugs, configuration issues, and enhancement requests
- Optimize system performance and reliability
5. Upgrades & System Enhancements
- Plan and execute upgrades from older versions to the latest Business Central releases
- Support data migration, regression testing, and validation activities
- Ensure minimal business disruption during upgrades and migrations
- Recommend enhancements to improve performance, scalability, and usability
6. Business Process & Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with functional consultants and business users to understand requirements
- Translate functional needs into technical designs and solutions
- Possess working knowledge of Finance and Manufacturing processes, including
- Finance: AP, AR, GL, Fixed Assets, TDS, GST
- Manufacturing: BOMs, Routings, Production Orders, MRP, MPS
- Support Indian localization requirements such as GST, TDS/TCS, e-Invoicing, Audit Trail, and GST returns
7. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Create and maintain technical documentation for customizations, integrations, and configurations
- Develop user guides, technical manuals, and deployment documents
- Assist in preparing functional and technical specifications
8. Testing, Training & Deployment
- Support system testing, UAT, and production deployments
- Assist in end-user training and technical walkthroughs
- Provide post-go-live support and stabilization
9. Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with the latest Business Central features, tools, and best practices
- Recommend technical and process improvements that drive operational efficiency
- Contribute to reusable assets, frameworks, and accelerator
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Expertise in AL development and Visual Studio Code
- Experience with Business Central extensions and upgrade-safe development
- Strong understanding of integrations using APIs and web services
- Experience in data migration, upgrades, and performance tuning
Functional Knowledge
- Working understanding of Finance and Manufacturing modules
- Familiarity with Indian localization and statutory requirements
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in cross-functional and client-facing environments

Qualifications and Experience:
- BTech or MCA
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Consultant with hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
