Job title: Business Analyst

About the role:
At Upstox, we are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst who can translate business problems into data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with large datasets, conducting deep analyses, and presenting insights to stakeholders in a clear and compelling way
Key responsibilities:
- Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and root causes
- Generate actionable insights and recommendations to support business strategy, product improvements, and operational efficiency
- Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations to track key metrics and KPIs
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Operations, Marketing) to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on customer behavior, funnel metrics, and business performance
- Support A/B testing, experiment design, and post-experiment analysis
- Present findings to leadership and drive alignment on next step
Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 37 years of experience in business analytics, strategy, consulting, product analytics, or a similar role
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to break down problems and derive insights
- Proficiency in SQL and Excel; experience with Python/R is a plus
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
- Strong communication and storytelling skills for presenting insights
- Ability to work with ambiguity and solve structured/unstructured problems
