Business Analyst Subject Matter Expert (L2)

Role Overview:
You will act as a Business Analyst - SME for our Healthcare / Life Sciences vertical, collaborating with product, engineering, delivery and client teams to design, validate and drive solutions on the elsAi platform. You'll help turn domain challenges into scalable, AI-enabled workflows, ensuring our product connects with real industry use-cases and delivers measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders (internal & client) to understand business processes, pain points and opportunities within US Healthcare / Life Sciences (provider, payer, life sciences, BPO).
- Translate business needs into functional requirements, solution maps, user stories and process flows specific to the elsAi product environment.
- Validate and prioritize use-cases where GenAI can add value: e.g., document summarization, regulatory compliance, data ingestion, analytics, Q&A for healthcare data.
- Collaborate with product & engineering teams to ensure design aligns with domain requirements, compliance (HIPAA, etc.), and scalable architecture.
- Develop process documentation, SOPs, business rules, data flows and hand-over materials for delivery teams.
- Support proof-of-concepts or pilot engagements (especially in fractional consulting mode) to validate value with clients, gather feedback and refine requirements.
- Monitor and report on solution adoption, business benefits (e.g., time saved, accuracy improved), and assist in continuous improvement of the elsAi solution in the vertical.
- Stay informed on US Healthcare / Life Sciences trends, regulatory frameworks, and technology shifts to inform product roadmap and client strategy.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the US Healthcare / Life Sciences domain.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, SME or Process Consultant in healthcare operations, payer/provider, life science research, or BPO servicing the US healthcare market.
- Strong understanding of US healthcare workflows (e.g., claims, RCM, clinical trials, regulatory compliance) and life sciences (drug development, regulatory submissions, data analytics).
- Experience working with data, defining business rules, process flows, user stories and translating them into product features.
- Excellent communication skillsable to articulate domain concepts to technical teams and business teams alike.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, product-led environment, managing ambiguity and driving clarity.
- Ability to work either full-time or as a fractional consultant (for e.g., engaged part-time to deliver specific projects or use-cases).
Preferred / Plus:
- Experience with AI/ML projects, GenAI platforms, or intelligent agents.
- Prior exposure to product development lifecycle: ideation, use-case mapping, MVP, deployment.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA, GxP or other regulatory/compliance frameworks in the US healthcare / life sciences context.
- Agile/Scrum exposure, ability to work closely with engineering/product teams.
- Experience in offshore / BPO delivery models supporting US healthcare clients.
