Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering:
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to cross-border payment processing and regulatory compliance (e.g., AML, sanctions screening).
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and payment networks (e.g., SWIFT, ISO 20022) to define and validate solutions.
- Translate complex payment flows and settlement processes into clear functional specifications and user stories.
- Document and validate business rules, process models, and data flows associated with payment schemes such as SEPA, TARGET2, and CHAPS.
Payments Domain Expertise:
- Provide subject matter expertise on the end-to-end lifecycle of payments, including initiation, processing, clearing, and settlement of payments.
- Exhibit knowledge of credit/debit cards, international and domestic payment schemes, and cross-border payment schemes.
- Work with stakeholders to map and document clearing, settlement, and corporate actions processing, including systems and flow integration.
- Knowledge of SWIFT messages (MT, pain., pacs. series) and their role in settlements and corporate actions flows.
- Leverage understanding of ISO 20022 migration to assist in planning and executing the migration process to modernized payment standards.
- Actively participate in the integration of ISO 20022 standards across payment systems in alignment with regulatory timelines and business objectives.
ISO 20022 Transformation Leadership:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of ISO 20022 transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic direction, governance, and oversight to ensure timely and quality delivery of program milestones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, technology, operations, vendors) to ensure seamless integration of new payment schemes and standards.
- Coordinate the implementation of ISO 20022 standards and payment modernization initiatives within the project scope.
Project Lifecycle & Testing Support:
- Support the end-to-end project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to delivery, including testing and defect resolution.
- Ensure requirements traceability and assist in the creation of test cases for validating payment processes and solutions.
- Participate in regulatory compliance assessments to ensure adherence to legal frameworks (e.g., AML, sanctions screening).
- Support testing activities for cross-border payment solutions, including validating SWIFT gpi, ISO 20022, and other payment standards.
Domain Knowledge & Best Practices:
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of payment networks, industry standards (SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, etc.), and compliance.
- Provide expert advice on cross-border payments, FX, and clearing and settlement systems in various global markets.
- Help define and implement best practices for managing payments-related transformations and modernization initiatives.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Ensure effective communication of complex concepts and technical requirements to business stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Serve as the main point of contact for business requirements and provide regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams to ensure alignment across all aspects of the payments transformation program.
