About the Team
The TESS (Transportation Execution Systems & Services) Analytics team is part of NA Transportation Services and is responsible for delivering data-driven insights, dashboards, automation, and governance solutions that support transportation configuration, network planning, and operational excellence. We partner closely with TESS Program Managers, Network Planners, Operations teams, and cross-functional organizations including TITANS, SortTech, and ShipTech to drive measurable business outcomes.
Role Summary
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join the TESS Analytics team. In this role, you will build and maintain analytical solutions - including dashboards, reports, ETL pipelines, and automated monitoring systems - that enable TESS stakeholders to make faster, data-informed decisions. You will work directly with Program Managers and Operations teams to translate business requirements into scalable analytics deliverables.
Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Amazon QuickSight, supporting programs such as Config Validation, Quality Metrics, Klaxon Monitoring, and Network Planning
2. Develop and optimize SQL queries and ETL jobs (Datanet) to transform raw data into actionable datasets
3. Partner with TESS Program Managers to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver analytical solutions aligned to business goals
4. Support the Klaxon alarm system by building and maintaining automated monitoring dashboards that detect configuration defects (e.g., missing Stacking Filters, VSM misconfigurations)
5. Contribute to ETL governance initiatives - inventory management, deprecation workflows, and performance optimization
6. Perform ad-hoc deep-dive analyses to support root cause investigations, quality misses, and operational reviews (WBR, MBR)
7. Maintain data quality and integrity across TESS-BI datasets through schema validation and standardization
8. Support on-call BI operations including data queries, logic changes, and stakeholder requests
9. Document analytical processes, data dictionaries, and solution designs
- 2+ years of Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables) experience
- 2+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL or ETL
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Quick Sight, Tableau, Power BI or other BI packages
- Experience creating complex SQL queries joining multiple datasets, ETL DW concepts
- Experience using very large datasets
- Knowledge of SQL
