A Day in the Life
As a Business Analyst Global Tax Services, you'll dive into large financial datasets to investigate data quality issues and develop solutions that support our compliance and accounting operations.
You'll work hands-on with SQL and data tools to create critical reporting that informs business decisions.
Beyond analysis, you'll partner with customer teams to understand their challenges, design reporting solutions tailored to their needs, and guide them through implementation.
You'll also collaborate with technology partners and technical teams across Amazon to ensure our data systems support evolving business requirements.
Your work bridges the gap between complex financial data and clear business insights, translating technical findings into recommendations that stakeholders can act on.

Key Job Responsibilities
Conduct detailed data research and analysis on large financial datasets investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve data quality issues to ensure accuracy and reliability
Create critical reporting that supports compliance and accounting requirements across the organization
Define business requirements for technical development by analyzing datasets and translating business objectives into actionable specifications
Partner with customer teams to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and data processes provide guidance on utilizing designed reporting and functionality
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key technology providers and technical teams across Amazon to support data initiatives
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent field
3+ years Experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field
3+ years Proficiency with SQL for data analysis and query development
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
Proficiency with Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS technology stack (such as AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, or Glue)
Background in tax or accounting systems and processes
Experience working with large-scale financial or compliance datasets

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 3+ years of SQL experience
