Overview
The Senior Business Analyst - Finance will be responsible for leading end-to-end business analysis activities across key finance domains including AP, AR, R2R, Treasury, and Financial Controls. The role requires strong functional knowledge of finance processes, hands-on experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM). The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions, support digital finance transformation programs, and ensure successful delivery of finance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering sessions, analyze business needs, and translate them into functional specifications for finance systems and processes.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders to map current-state and future-state processes using VSM, SIPOC, or BPMN methodologies.
- Document business requirements, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrices.
- Work closely with IT, ERP, and platform teams (SAP/ServiceNow) to define solution blueprints and integration touchpoints.
- Support end-to-end finance transformation initiatives including automation, digitization, and workflow optimization.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions with global finance teams to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure alignment with governance frameworks, compliance standards (SOX, internal controls), and financial reporting requirements.
- Support SIT/UAT cycles, validate system changes, and ensure all requirements are accurately implemented.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations for improving financial processes and operational efficiency.
- Act as a liaison between business, technology, and delivery teams to ensure seamless communication and delivery outcomes.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Finance or ERP-related projects.
- Strong understanding of finance processes (AP, AR, R2R, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Tax).
- Hands-on experience with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) and methodologies (VSM, BPMN).
- Experience in requirement gathering, user story creation, and end-to-end documentation.
- Understanding of SAP FI/CO or other finance ERPs.
- Knowledge of service management/ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work across multi-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital finance transformation initiatives, shared services, or global finance operations.
- Exposure to ServiceNow Finance Operations or financial workflow automation tools.
- Experience in large-scale ERP migration or S/4HANA projects.
- Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Lean Six Sigma, or finance certifications (CIMA/CMA/CPA).
- Familiarity with Agile ways of working and tools such as Jira or Confluence.
- Knowledge of ITSM and compliance frameworks (SOX, audit guidelines).
