About the Role
We are looking for Business Analyst will serve as the analytical backbone for store operations translating raw business data into actionable intelligence that drives sales performance, store productivity, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Understanding & Process Mapping
- Develop a thorough understanding of retail operations from lead generation and CRM workflows to in-store sales execution and post-sale service
- Map existing business processes across regions and identify workflow inefficiencies or control gaps
- Engage regularly with operations teams to stay grounded in ground realities
Gap Identification & Solutions
- Proactively identify performance gaps across stores, categories, and regions using data
- Translate identified gaps into structured problem statements and recommend actionable solutions
- Partner with operations and category teams to pilot and measure the impact of improvement initiatives
Data Analysis & Business Insights
- Analyse sales fluctuations, conversion trends, and category performance across daily, weekly, and monthly cycles
- Perform deep-dive analyses on critical retail metrics
- Detect anomalies, seasonal patterns, and outliers; form hypotheses and validate them through data
Sales Team Enablement
- Translate complex data into clear, prioritised action points for the sales and store teams
- Publish weekly and monthly performance scorecards with commentary that guides the team on where to focus
- Support target-setting cycles with bottom-up analysis by store, zone, and region
- Identify stores underperforming relative to their potential using benchmarking and peer comparison
- Analyse footfall, conversion, and bill-size patterns to surface productivity levers
- Work with field teams to address process gaps impacting sales throughput
Dashboard & Reporting
- Own the design and timely publication of periodic dashboards covering sales, leads, inventory, and category metrics
- Ensure reports are accurate, version-controlled, and consumed across stakeholder levels from store staff to senior leadership
- Continuously improve reporting frameworks based on stakeholder feedback
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Statistics, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in a business analyst, MIS, or retail analytics role
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel pivot tables, advanced formulas, and dashboard building; VBA / Macros is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar visualisation tools
- Working knowledge of SQL for querying operational databases
- Strong verbal and written communication ability to present insights simply and confidently
