Role Summary

The Business Analyst will support the Digitalisation Cell in driving digital and enterprise transformation initiatives across IIT Bombay. The role will work closely with academic and administrative stakeholders to understand existing processes, identify opportunities for digitisation and improvement, translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, and support technology teams through implementation and UAT. The role is highly execution-oriented and will involve working across multiple institutional projects and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Analyse existing academic and administrative processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and digital transformation opportunities.
• Conduct stakeholder consultations with Deans, HODs, faculty, students, wardens, and administrative teams through interviews, workshops, and surveys.
• Translate business needs into process flows, user stories, functional specifications, and system requirements.
• Identify and recommend digital solutions, including dashboards, web/mobile applications, and workflow or ERP enhancements.
• Collaborate with IT teams and technology vendors on solution definition, implementation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Track project progress, manage change requests, and support reporting on adoption, efficiency, cost savings, and user outcomes.

Eligibility & Experience

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline; STEM backgrounds preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, digital transformation, ERP implementation, or technology-enabled process improvement.
• Strong hands-on experience in requirements elicitation, process mapping/BPMN, gap analysis, and functional documentation.
• Experience working across business and technology teams, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, ERP/SaaS platforms, basic SQL, and data visualisation.
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, and/or Power BI.
• Exposure to ERPNext/Frappe, Moodle, or higher-education systems will be an advantage.
• Experience in higher education, public-sector, or complex institutional environments will be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
