Business Analysis - Global Markets
In This Role, You Will
- The Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Management function sits within the Markets business within the Markets and Securities Services area of HSBC. We help manage and control non-financial and new risks in the business, including but not limited to operational, conduct and product lifecycle risk.
- An overarching purpose is to protect HSBC, its People, Clients and Financial Markets by helping safeguarding the delivery of fair outcomes to our customers and avoiding disruption of the orderly and transparent operation of Financial Markets.
- The Role Holder will be responsible for small change management and BAU activities within the Front Office Supervision NFR Team. The Supervision NFR team helps Front Office Supervisors mitigate Conduct and Unauthorised Trading Risks. Work with Business Partners to clarify problems/opportunities, scope and expected outcomes.
- Clarify business requirements and work with customer to understand business context and issues. Detailed Business Analysis for designing new trading controls, MI and reports. Liaise with the technical BA and PM and Development Team(s) to ensure user requirements match design and build.
- Sustainably embed new change initiatives in BAU through documentation, training, post go live support and implementing procedures to ensure business processes continue to run optimally.
- Once, change is delivered support in BAU to embed and continuously improve the Supervisory controls. Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the conduct and Unauthorised Trading Controls, current practices and system capabilities;
- Identifying new opportunities and promoting activities where customer satisfaction can be improved. Understanding the business issues and data challenges within the business and industry. Perform BAU activities to support and embed Supervisory Tools which would involve L1 support and liasing with control owner and process teams.
- Proactive support to Front Office Supervisors and pragmatic prioritisation process. Detailed analysis and presentation of options related to the analysis. Support project implementation, including training, procedure documentation, operating model implementation. Monitor production issues, manage detailed resolution and ensure appropriate communication directly.
- The candidate will need to build strong relationships with the wider NFR Asset class teams and COOs and stakeholders in their region to ensure that change is managed, governed and put in context with the business and IT change strategies. Where the candidate is not the primary lead for a project, they should provide appropriate global oversight and support.
- Front to back coordination and integration with other programmes/streams. Ensure that the requirements are clearly understood by the technology team(s). Contribute to the definition of solution design options and support solutions that address the defined business case
To Be Successful You Will
- Bachelor's or equivalent University degree with 6 to 10 years of experience in business Analysis. Evidence of a successful track record delivering change in a IB Front Office environment;
- Identify lessons learned and read across opportunities. Ability to suggest and propose changes to processes; driving change and participating in system enhancements, applying critical thinking skills to analyse complex risk topics and challenge status quo if needed.
- Experienced in delivering change from inception to delivery including identifying business need, articulating business requirements, detailing functional requirements and supporting Technology in delivering them
- Demonstrable experience in documenting Operating Model, Requirements, Process Flows producing business ready artefacts in PowerPoint and Word, as required
- Structured and methodical in planning their own book of work, delivery of artefacts, managing multiple competing priorities and setting expectations with stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience working with stakeholders in Front Office, Operations and Technology to drive change initiatives. Good understanding of Trading products - Cash and Derivatives across Asset classes and the general end to end trade lifecycle for key product types
- Hands on ability to work with large data sets preferably trading data, to drive business insights and improvements in how controls are run
- Experienced in developing data feed requirements, source to target mappings and performing root cause analysis on gaps in data quality/coverage/completeness
- Sound experience working with MI and Reports in Front Office and/or Operations in order to design what good looks like and driving change initiatives to improve reporting capabilities. Familiarity with Conduct and Trading Controls
