Job Description
Your role
- Designing, checking and assessment of bridges and other railway structures as per Network Rail Standards, Eurocodes and AASHTO.
- Deliver projects in accordance with quality, timescales and budget.
- Ensure technical competencies are kept up to date.
- Apply Atkins Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS).
- Contribute in a team of engineers and CAD technicians working on design and assessment of bridges as per Network Rail Standard and Eurocodes.
- Liaison and interact with the UK businesses.
- Originate design and assessment calculations and reviewing detailed drawings & 3D model.
- Deliver project in accordance with to quality, timescales and budget.
- Play a major role in the development of technical skills of the team.
- Raise the profile of the organisation by publishing technical papers and making technical presentations at seminars and conferences.
- Ensure technical competencies of self and team are kept up to date.
About you
- Experience in bridge engineering software such as LUSAS, SAM-LEAP, RM-Bridge, MIDAS/Civil.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation, Revit.
- Exposure to international codes of practice.
- Competency in writing technical reports and making presentations.
- Master degree/Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an institute of repute.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in bridge design.
- Experience in structural engineering software and MS-Office.
- Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, seniors, team members and clients.
- Ability to understand, explain, present and solve technical problems.
