Amazon Out of Country (OOC) team is focused on bringing exciting international brands from Japan to customers in India. This role entails working with multiple Amazon stakeholders and Japanese brand partners to deliver a best-in-class experience for new Japanese brands entering the Indian market, and help existing Japanese brands expand their presence on the Amazon platform in India.

The objective of this position is to drive business growth by successfully launching and expanding Japanese brands on Amazon India, delivering competitive pricing and unique product selection to Indian customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in brand management or international business development, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable working across multiple complex functions and capable of influencing both internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should be adept at analysing market trends, consumer behaviour, and sales data to make strategic decisions. Proficiency in Japanese language is highly desirable.

Key job responsibilities
- Identify and engage with potential Japanese brands that align with Amazon India's growth strategy.
- Conduct deep dives into Japanese market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes to identify promising opportunities for brand launches in India.
- Develop compelling business cases and strategies to convince Japanese brands to enter the Indian market through Amazon.
- Work closely with senior executives at interested Japanese brands to successfully negotiate deals and facilitate their entry into the Indian market.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to set priorities, develop launch plans, and ensure smooth onboarding of new Japanese brands.
- Manage the entire launch process, from initial outreach to post-launch performance monitoring and optimization.
- Review and monitor performance and sales of launched Japanese brands, providing strategic guidance to ensure their success in the Indian market.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Japanese brand partners, serving as their primary point of contact and advocate within Amazon India.
- Stay informed about Japan-specific regulatory changes, import policies, trade agreements between India and Japan, and market dynamics that may impact Japanese brand launches.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of sales experience
- Experience analyzing data and best practices to assess performance drivers
- Demonstrated proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N2/N1 or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience meeting revenue targets and quotas
- Experience in e-commerce
- Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization
