Book Production Manager

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Agra.

The Book Production Manager will be responsible for end-to-end production planning and execution, ensuring timely printing, binding, and dispatch of books.

The role requires strong control over daily operations, coordination with printing, binding, and inventory teams, and ensuring that production targets are achieved without delays or errors.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor daily printing & binding schedules
• Ensure accurate stock tracking (printed, bound, WIP)
• Implement and enforce process discipline (registers, Tally updates, checklists)
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks (especially manual binding)
• Coordinate with press, binding team, and supervisors
• Ensure on-time completion of urgent and seasonal orders
• Maintain quality control across all stages
• Optimize cost, wastage, and efficiency

Qualifications

• Experience in printing press / publishing production (25+ years preferred)
• Strong understanding of web & sheet offset printing, binding processes
• Ability to manage teams and enforce systems
• Hands-on, execution-focused mindset (not just planning)
• Strong problem-solving and accountability mindset
