Key Responsibilities – Body Shop Maintenance
Body Shop Maintenance – Staff (Job Description)- Ensure adherence to Safety standards and 5S practices on the shop floor, aiming for zero accidents/incidents
- Identify and classify critical spares (A/B/C category) and ensure their availability
- Manage spare parts inventory and stock room effectively
- Coordinate breakdown activities to ensure minimum downtime and support implementation of permanent corrective actions
- Support development and implementation of backup and contingency systems for critical/chronic equipment
- Analyze skill gaps and support enhancement of team member (TM) competencies
- Prepare reports on breakdowns, contingency measures, and backup systems
- Conduct condition monitoring, analyze results, and identify improvement actions
- Identify and implement monitoring systems for critical equipment
- Analyze mechanical/electrical component failures and follow up with suppliers for resolution
- Plan shutdown and holiday maintenance activities, including spares and supplier coordination, and obtain approvals
- Ensure timely calibration and condition monitoring of tools and gauges
- Support new project activities and implementation schedules
- Follow up with suppliers for closure of open points
- Drive localization initiatives and cost-saving projects with implementation tracking
- Prepare documentation for ISO/MSDS audits and ensure timely closure of observations
Skills & Qualifications:
- BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
- Sound understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
- Exposure to automated systems and controls will be considered an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accountability in maintenance activities.
- Willingness to work in shifts and adapt to a dynamic manufacturing setup.
Tools & Technologies:
- Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments.
- Familiarity with industrial safety practices and usage of PPE.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation.
