Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • BMC TrueSight Management: Possess strong expertise with BMC TrueSight Operations Management.
  • Installation & Administration: Perform installation, upgrade, integration, administration, and configuration of BMC TrueSight, especially with version 10.x and later.
  • Patrol Agent Management: Install Patrol Agents on Windows, RHEL, AIX, and Solaris OS.
  • Knowledge Module Expertise: Work with various knowledge modules such as DB, Websphere, Exchange, Sentry hardware, Sentry monitoring studio, along with basic KMs like OS, LOG, and URL.
  • Custom KM Development: Possess working knowledge of custom KMs.
  • Troubleshooting: Apply strong troubleshooting skills to resolve Patrol Agent and TrueSight server component issues.
  • Event Management: Demonstrate strong expertise in Event Management policy Administration and configuration.
  • Third-Party Integration: Design and implement integration solutions with 3rd party tools for event and performance management.
  • Remedy ITSM Integration: Work with TrueSight-Remedy ITSM integration, troubleshooting, and enhancements.
  • MRLs & Custom Classes: Possess working knowledge of MRLs and custom classes.
  • Reporting: Configure and design reports using TSOM Smart reporting and OOTB TrueSight reports.
  • Environment Optimization: Analyze environment and event data to fine-tune and reduce instance and event counts.
  • Architecture Review: Ability to review, analyze, fine-tune, and enhance TrueSight architecture and its components as per growing infrastructure and customer requirements.
  • Component Familiarity: Experience with Patrol Central, RT, Console server, and PCM components.
  • IT Infrastructure Knowledge: Knowledge of Datacenter IT Infrastructure components, Unix, Windows OS, and Virtualization.
  • BMC Helix: Hands-on experience on BMC Helix and upgrades/migrations.
  • Problem Analysis: Exhibit excellent problem analysis skills.
  • Communication: Possess good communication skills to effectively convey understanding and impacts of major incidents to the business.

Required Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in BMC TrueSight Operations Management.
  • Proficiency in installation, Upgrade, integration, Administration, configuration (especially with version 10.x & later).
  • Strong skills in installation of Patrol Agents on Windows, RHEL, AIX, Solaris OS.
  • Knowledge of various knowledge modules like DB, Websphere, Exchange, Sentry hardware, Sentry monitoring studio, OS, LOG, URL.
  • Working knowledge of custom KMs.
  • Troubleshooting skills for Patrol Agent and TrueSight server component issues.
  • Strong expertise in Event Management policy Administration and configuration.

  • Familiarity with TrueSight-Remedy ITSM integration, troubleshooting, and enhancements.

  • Hands on experience on BMC Helix and upgrades/Migrations.

Good to Have:

  • Infrastructure knowledge on Operating system and Database.
  • Good communication skills set, including clear communication on major incident impact.
  • Excellent problem analysis skill set.

Technical Skills:

  • Certification on BMC TrueSight.
