Job Summary:

• We are looking for a skilled Scan to BIM (SBIM) Specialist with 2.6 to 4 years of experience in converting point cloud data from 3D laser scans into Building Information Models (BIM).

• The ideal candidate should be proficient in working with industry-standard tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, and have a good understanding of BIM processes and standards.

• You will be responsible for delivering accurate 3D models, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring the smooth integration of scanning data into construction workflows.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical or EEE.

• 2 to 4 years of experience in Scan to BIM (SBIM) projects.

• Knowledge of construction workflows and as-built documentation is a plus.

• Certification in BIM or laser scanning technologies is an advantage but not required.

Role & responsibilities:

• Point Cloud to BIM Conversion: Convert 3D laser scan point clouds into precise 3D BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, or other related software.

• Modeling: Create detailed and accurate architectural, structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) models from laser scans or as-built drawings.

• Data Management: Manage point cloud data efficiently and ensure accurate referencing and integration of scan data into BIM models.

• Quality Control: Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on scan data and models to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

• Coordination: Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure proper BIM execution and integration of scanning data.

• BIM Standards: Ensure that all models follow BIM execution plans (BEP), and adhere to company and client-specific BIM standards.

• Documentation: Prepare project documentation, including model annotations, clash detection reports, and as-built verification.

• Clash Detection and Issue Resolution: Conduct clash detection using Navisworks or other relevant software and coordinate with different disciplines to resolve issues.

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.

• Experience working with point cloud data and laser scanning software such as Autodesk Recap or Faro Scene.

• Strong understanding of BIM workflows and BIM standards (LOD 300-500).

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

• Familiarity with 3D scanning technologies and hardware (laser scanners, drones, etc.).

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Experience with clash detection and coordination across disciplines.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Familiarity with scripting languages (Dynamo, Python) for Revit automation.

• Experience in Scan-to-BIM for renovation or heritage projects.

• Knowledge of sustainability practices in BIM is an added advantage.
