Overview
We are looking for a Reinforcement BIM Engineer/Detailer who can support the development of our reinforcement workflow and future reinforcement agent. The person should be able to take a given structural element input— understand the reinforcement requirements, create the 3D reinforcement model in Revit and then prepare the detailing / drawing output for the same.
This role is not only about drafting. We need someone who can think like a Engineer/Modeler, understand practical reinforcement logic, and help us build a repeatable workflow that can later support automation and AI-based reinforcement generation.
Responsibilities
The person will work closely with our internal team to:
· Model reinforcement in 3D for given elements based on rebar input and engineering intent
· Prepare detailed drawings and schedules from the modeled reinforcement
· Handle real project conditions such as openings, edge bars, laps, hooks, covers, starter bars, embeds, and congestion zones
· Help us identify detailing rules, edge cases, and best practices that should later be translated into our reinforcement agent logic
· Review whether generated reinforcement is practical, buildable, and aligned with detailing standards
Key Skills Required
Must Have
· Strong experience in reinforcement detailing / rebar modeling
· Hands-on working knowledge of Revit or Allplan
· Ability to create 3D reinforcement models for RC elements, especially walls
· Ability to prepare 2D detailing drawings, sections, callouts, and BBS / bar schedules
· Ability to read structural drawings and convert design intent into practical rebar placement
· Good understanding of constructability and site-friendly detailing
Good understanding of reinforcement concepts such as:
· Cover
· Spacing
· Lap lengths
· Hook lengths
· Bend radius
· Anchorage
· Edge reinforcement
· Opening reinforcement
· Mesh / face reinforcement
· Starter bars / connection zones
Good to Have
· Experience in precast wall detailing
· Experience with both 3D reinforcement modeling and shop drawing production
· Familiarity with standard rebar shape codes and scheduling conventions
· Ability to explain detailing decisions clearly to technical and software teams
· Interest in supporting workflow standardization / automation / AI
· Experience identifying edge cases and inconsistencies in drawings or inputs
What We Want This Person To Do
· Start with a given wall element and reinforcement input
· Build the reinforcement in 3D in Revit or Allplan
· Produce the required drawings, sections, tags, and schedules
· Highlight missing inputs, detailing conflicts, or practical issues
· Help document the reinforcement logic used for placement decisions
· Support us in defining a standard workflow that can later be replicated across more element types
Ideal Profile
The best-fit person will likely be someone who:
· Has already done hands-on reinforcement detailing for RC elements, Model Checking.
· Is comfortable working in 3D, not only 2D drafting
· Can convert engineering input into an accurate and buildable reinforcement model
· Can communicate detailing logic clearly
· Can support both project delivery and knowledge capture for automation
