Job Purpose
The Billing and Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ), comprehensive cost estimates, and managing the end-to-end billing process. This role ensures cost accuracy, budget adherence, and timely financial documentation for turnkey projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimation & BOQ: Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities and comprehensive cost estimates based on approved drawings and specifications for Civil, Interior, and MEP works.
- Quantity Take-offs: Carry out accurate quantity take-offs to ensure cost correctness and minimize wastage.
- Rate Analysis: Perform detailed rate analysis for materials, labor, and subcontracted activities.
- Billing Management: Prepare Running Account (RA) bills and Final Bills in accordance with contractual terms and project milestones.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Oversight: Verify subcontractor and vendor bills for accuracy before forwarding them for final processing.
- Site Coordination: Work closely with site engineers to capture and validate executed quantities on-site.
- Cost Control: Track project costs against approved budgets on a regular basis to identify variances.
- Tender Support: Provide vital estimation inputs and documentation for tender preparation.
- Documentation: Maintain systematic billing and estimation records and ensure the timely submission of cost reports.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in billing and estimation within the construction or fit-out industry.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Core Skills: Expertise in BOQ preparation, Rate Analysis, and Quantity Take-off.
- Software: Proficiency in MS Excel is mandatory.
- Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of RA & Final billing cycles and cost control mechanisms.
- Soft Skills: Excellent site coordination capabilities and a deadline-driven approach to execution.
Key Requirements
- Proven accuracy in quantity take-offs and vendor bill verification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Turnkey 5.0 environment.
- Strong understanding of material and labor costs in the local Bangalore market.
