Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Bench Test Lead to oversee and execute structural validation and durability testing for automotive systems, including Body, Chassis, and Interior components. The ideal candidate will bring over 6-8 years of hands-on experience in automotive R&D, with a strong background in test planning, execution, and data analysis using advanced tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead bench testing activities for vehicle systems including Body, Chassis, and Interior across multiple platforms like passenger and commercial vehicles.
- Develop and execute Design Validation Plans (DVPs) and ensure alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Standard, Design process & testing procedure in addition to that governs the Body chassis & interior component and System level testing
- Providing insights and making value-added contributions towards the improvement of methodologies and processes
- Conduct durability and fatigue testing using Four-Poster, Two-Poster, and Six-Poster rigs, MTS RPC simulations, and vibration shakers.
- Perform road load data acquisition (RLDA) and analysis using tools like nCode GlyphWorks.
- Manage homologation testing for BIW and seating systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (SBA, Seat Anchorage, Interior Fittings etc.).
- Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies for test execution, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Simulate and analyze customer field failures in lab conditions to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical/Automotive Electronics
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, MTS RPC, nCode GlyphWorks
- Strong knowledge of homologation standards, fatigue life estimation, and test correlation techniques
- Excellent project management and team leadership skills
Preferred Skills
Desired skills
- Experience with ADAS, Connected Cars, and Capex Management
- Familiarity with SAP and DFMEA
- Strong communication skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi
