About The Opportunity

Operating in the International Education & Student Recruitment sector, this role sits within a fast-paced study-abroad consultancy that advises students on global admissions, visa processes, and career pathways. We guide applicants through university selection, documentation, and enrollment to achieve measurable placement outcomes across major destinations (UK, US, Canada, Australia).

Primary title: Senior Academic Counselor

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end student counseling for undergraduate and postgraduate applicantsconduct needs assessment, university shortlisting, SOP/resume guidance, and application submission.
  • Manage a pipeline of high-intent student leads; convert prospects to enrollments while achieving monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Provide accurate visa guidance and documentation support; coordinate with immigration experts to resolve complex cases.
  • Liaise with university admissions teams and external partners to follow-up on applications, scholarships, and offer letters.
  • Use CRM to track interactions, update student records, and generate performance reports; optimise follow-up cadences and workflows.
  • Mentor junior counselors, run training sessions on best practices, and contribute to process improvements to increase conversion rates.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Proven experience in student recruitment and admissions counseling within an education consultancy or university admissions setting.
  • Strong domain knowledge of study-abroad pathways, common admission requirements, and visa procedures for top destinations.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and lead-management tools (Salesforce, LeadSquared, HubSpot) and advanced MS Excel usage.
  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads, meet enrollment targets, and produce conversion-focused reports.
  • Excellent written English for SOP/review and application documentation; experience reviewing resumes and personal statements.
  • Availability to work on-site at the India office and travel occasionally for outreach events or university meetups.

Preferred

  • Experience handling test prep and admissions for IELTS, PTE, GRE, or GMAT applicants.
  • Prior work with partner universities or in international admissions operations.
  • Certification in student counseling or career guidance (advantageous).
